Travel National Tourism Year 2010 to be hosted by Ha Noi

Under the theme “Thang Long-Ha Noi: Thousand-year convergence,” the National Tourism Year 2010 will be launched in Ha Noi and featured by activities to celebrate the millennium of the capital. The National Tourism Year 2010 will be the largest tourism event in Viet Nam, which lasts for the whole year and is supported by numerous localities throughout the country.

Activities in the framework of the National Tourism Year will be carried out in favor of the grand anniversary of Thang Long-Ha Noi. They are also expected to facilitate the implementation of the capital city’s and the country’s socio-economic development programs.

The event consists of nine major programs: the launching ceremony of the National Tourism Year; Creating tourist products and completing tourist projects to welcome the capital city’s millennium; Launching of the movements “Hanoians welcoming guests” and “Year of Green Tourism”; Organizing the Ha Noi Competition for Excellent Tour Guides; Finishing some tourist projects; International Tourism Festival Thang Long–Ha Noi 2010; Ha Noi Gastronomy Festival; Honoring high-quality tourism service providers; and the closing ceremony of the National Tourism Year.

Ha Noi will coordinate with some cities in the world to hold more than 30 tourist activities, including the Flower Street Festival; Traditional Ceramics Festival, Kite Flying Festival, Viet Nam Tourism Promotion in China; Jata Fair in Japan; Travex Fair as part of the Asia Tourism Forum in Brunei; and so on.

The municipal authority is designing an advertisement campaign to make the National Tourism Year 2010 successful.
