Travel Five countries to join int’l firework competition in Da Nang

The Da Nang International Firework Contest 2010 will include teams from the US, France, Japan, Portugal and Vietnam. According to the Da Nang People’s Committee, the event will take place at the Han River port from March 27-28 to celebrate Da Nang’s 35th Liberation Day.

The festival will have the theme “Legend of Han River”. Each team will perform a 20-minute show. Other activities will comprise music and dance shows, rowing contests and a lantern release ceremony.

Da Nang will build a grand stand for 30,000 visitors to witness the firework contest with tickets sold to tourists through travel agents.

The firework contest is one of the key activities organised by provinces and cities to celebrate the 1000th great anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi as Vietnam’s capital in 2010.
